Aerts Donker from the Aerts Brewery located in Geel.
In 1909, the brothers Louis and Karel Aerts were given permission to establish a brewery. A pity for them, “The Great War” broke out a few years later and in no time the brewery’s tanks were claimed by the German occupiers. Sloesh, done, finito …
The brewery had only a short life.
Brewery Aerts was recently revived. With, as it were, a few small (20l) test kettles and 1 large 200 liter kettle.
Because these quantities are too small, brewing and bottling was left to the Pirlot Brewery.
Aerts Donker is a light brown beer with a caramel-malty touch in combination with a slightly drier bitterness.
