Oude Gueuze is a spontaneous fermentation beer that is a mixture of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic.
Not filtered and not pasteurized. This beer is fermented in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months.
The lambics they use are fermented and aged in oak barrels in their own nursery. They originate from different types of wort, brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon. The taste is sour and dry, but has a certain roundness that makes this Oude Geuze particularly accessible to non-experts.
Fans of the genre also prefer this Oude Geuze for its sweet complexity.
It also has a slight dry bitterness due to the age of the oak barrels used, which still release a bit of tannin. It has a fresh lemon scent.
