Origin of Darkness, a great serie from the Canadian Collective Arts and in collaboration with a few other breweries.
In this case a collaboration with the American Mikerphone.
This Origin Of Darkness is an Imperial / Double Pastry Stout with the addition of maple syrup and walnuts.
As if that were not enough, this beer was once again matured in Bourbon barrels.
The result is a pitch-black beer with a smaller, beige head.
A sweet start due to the use of the maple syrup with a certain influence of the Bourbon barrel ripening.
A dark chocolate / coffee flavor is recognizable in the aftertaste. Very nicely balanced!
Did you know that Collective Arts have their labels designed by all kinds of artists from all over the world?
Their labels are carefully chosen by a jury and the best designs are then eventually used for their beers.
For example, the artist of the design in question is always mentioned on each label.
Perhaps what makes it even more fun is that their tins often consist of multiple designs. For example, the labels can always differ!
Note: the date on the bottom is always the date when the beer was canned!
