Melchior, belonging to the holy trio of the Three Kings.
Not the standard version, but a Whiskey Oak Aged version this time.
Under the supervision of Glenn from Alvinne, three king beers were again brewed this year at Pirlot in Zandhoven: Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar.
100% According to the old recipe and each with its own characteristic taste.
Melchior is a rather brown winter beer and with its 11% alcohol content also the heaviest in this series.
Slightly sweet, and clearly slightly more alcoholic than the Gaspar and Balthazar.
Slightly spicy in the aftertaste.
The Whiskey Barrel Aging provides a certain influence of the whiskey and gives the whole a slightly sweet whiskey aftertaste.
Particularly tasteful…
