Maximo from D’Oude Maalderij from Izegem.
Maximo, it sounds like a tough guy, and it is.
This Russian Imperial Stout has an alcohol content of 11.5% ABV.
When opening the bottle, the foam will be the first to get out of the bottle. The Co2 content is quite high.
A beautiful beige head betrays the use of roasted malts.
Its slightly sweet attack in combination with the roasted malts go towards the Stout flavors.
Perhaps something atypical for a Stout is that this Maximo also has a slightly fruity taste, as if it were in the aftertaste.
The fruity taste of dark (forest) fruits is recognizable, along with a coffee bitter aftertaste.
