Kveik on me from Anderson’s Craft Beer from Estonia.
This IPA was brewed with Kveik yeast, a Norwegian farm yeast.
Originally, Kveik was simply an indication of yeast in the south and west of Norway. Not much is known about the origin of Kveik yeasts. We only know that these yeasts were passed on to each other through generations of brewers in Norway.
This Kveik on me has a cloudy, orange / brown color which, I must admit, doesn’t look very tasty at first sight.
But you can only say something when you taste it, so let’s do it right away.
A hoppy, slightly citrusy taste with a moderate bitterness.
A recognizable ‘funky’ brett flavor, originating from the Kveik yeasts.
