A brand new Barrel aged version of brewery Het Nest.
I have to admit, they are experimenting very well with barrel-aged varieties.
This time no Tripel or Stout, but their very own KoekeDam Saison.
Also not matured on Belgian Owl Whiskey barrels, but on wine barrels and that makes a big difference.
The alcohol content has remained almost the same.
The original KoekeDam remains in the beer, the wine barrel maturing subtly.
I have the impression that this has also made it a bit sweeter.
The aftertaste remains a bit drier like the original.
