Hoppug Milkstout Speyside Barrel Aged, a recent beer from the Hoppug brewery.
Previously still a beer company, but since the beginning of 2020 they may appoint themselves as a brewery.
Last year we had already been introduced to their Free Bird IPA, Milkstout and sour cider and recently we were also able to add their Tripel to our range.
This Milkstout was brewed with 8 types of malt, an English yeast strain and with the addition of lactose.
In addition, they matured this brew for another 4 months in Speyside whiskey barrels.
Despite its 6% ABV, this Milkstout tastes surprisingly good!
Slightly creamy and soft in taste, the barrel ripening comes through beautifully and subtly. Very well balanced and therefore very tasteful in its style!
