Gaspar, one of the 3 from the Vintage Recipe Series that was recently re-brewed at the Pirlot Brewery under the supervision of Glenn van Alvinne.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar, also known as the 3 kings of the Bible story.
This series was brewed according to the old recipe.
Gaspar is, as the label describes it, a hoppy and blond winter beer with an alcohol content of 8.5%.
While pouring, I notice that the term blond is taken very broadly. I prefer to describe it as amber.
Hoppy, I agree with that. A light caramel touch is also recognizable.
Furthermore, it has a bit of a yeasty and slightly stone fruit flavor.
The aftertaste has a slightly drier bitterness.
