Duvel Distilled 2023

To celebrate the brewery’s 150th anniversary, they launched a limited edition of Duvel Distilled 2 years ago.

Also this year, Duvel is releasing a new, limited version.

The distilled Duvel is left to rest for 10 years in oak barrels of bourbon and sherry, after which this blend undergoes a finishing on Sicilian marslavates as a final step. Marsala is an ancient fortified sweet wine in which alcohol is added to the fermenting grape juice.

The maturation on marsalavates will tantalize your nose with spicy aromas of vanilla and cloves. That aromatic strength is complemented by fruity accents in your mouth. Even after ten years of maturation, Duvel’s balanced character remains recognizable. Furthermore, in Duvel Distilled 2023 you can taste the full flavors of cherry, apricot and raisin. These different layers of flavour combine to form an elegant harmony in which the expressive wood character provides structure and a complex finish.
