Ay Güey! from the Spanish microbrewery Yria.
A small brewery, but with great beers.
Yria was at Borefts last year with unprecedented (Barrel Aged) Imperial Stouts.
This Ay Güey is certainly not a middle class Stout.
An Imperial Stout, with a rather small head, brewed with the addition of cocoa, tonka beans, vanilla, cinnamon, chillies and nutmeg.
Especially those chili peppers provide a special taste here.
A sweet start in combination of roasted malt, chocolate and dried dark fruits.
Some cinnamon and nutmeg recognizable in the background with a spicy finish.
The pepper is present, remains on the tongue for a while but is not predominant.
